Polyethyleneimine

Polyethyleneimine (PEI), also known as polyazocyclic propane, is a water-soluble polymer.It is colorless or light yellow viscous liquid, hygroscopic, soluble in water, ethanol, insoluble in benzene.Commercially available products are usually aqueous solutions of 20% to 50% concentration.

The degree of polymerizationof  Polyethyleneimineused in the paper industry is about 100, and its aqueous solution is positive. The pH value of 5% aqueous solution is 8 ~ 11, and it will gelate in the presence of acid. Polyethyleneimine has high reactivity,itcan react with hydroxyl in cellulose and cross-link polymerization, so that the paper has wet strength, and has a dry strengthening effect.

Under certain conditions, Polyethyleneimine solid material can absorb a large amount of carbon dioxide in humid air, and the separation process is very convenient. Carbon dioxide can be permanently sequester in Polyethyleneimine solid materials, or it can be extracted for use in other applications.
