    China expandable microspheres foaming agent is a new type of special foaming agent, which is a milky white, small spherical plastic particle with a diameter of 10-45 microns. When heated to a certain temperature, the volume of the foaming agent can rapidly expand to dozens of times its original size, thus achieving the foaming effect.


    When heated to a certain temperature, the thermoplastic shell softens, the gas inside the shell expands, and the volume of the foaming agent can increase to dozens of times its original size, while the core-shell structure is not destroyed, thus achieving the foaming effect.


    China Expandable Microspheres Foaming Agent Structure


    China expandable microspheres foaming agent has a core-shell structure, with a thermoplastic acrylic polymer shell and an alkane gas core forming spherical plastic particles. Its diameter is generally 10-30 microns. The polymer shell thickness ranges from 2-15 microns, with good elasticity and can withstand considerable pressure. After heated expansion, the foaming agent does not crack, maintaining its good performance.

    When China expandable microspheres are heated, the polymer shell softens and the gas inside the shell expands, causing the hydrocarbon within the shell to expand to 20-50 times its original volume in a short time. The outer shell of the foamed microsphere does not rupture and remains a complete sealed sphere. The microspheres have high resilience and are easily compressible. Once the pressure is released, the microspheres return to their original volume.

    Good mechanical performance


    Unlike other types of foaming agents, China expandable microspheres foaming agent has no pores, thus avoiding issues like uneven pores, pore rupture, and poor resilience. The complete spherical structure ensures good mechanical performance.


    Wide foaming temperature range and easy processing


    The foaming temperature range is between 70℃-200℃, allowing the selection of the most suitable microsphere model according to various processing temperatures and process requirements.


    Excellent elasticity


    The thermoplastic shell has outstanding pressure resistance and can withstand a surface pressure of 300 kg/cm². Good resilience allows it to endure multiple cycles of pressing and releasing without rupture.


    Exceptional foaming performance


    It can achieve an independent foaming effect 50-150 times its original size and remains a complete enclosed body post-foaming, offering foaming effects that traditional chemical foaming agents cannot match.

    Polymer microspheres are non-toxic and non-polluting, making them ideal for use as environmentally friendly foaming agents in high-end and high-value-added products.

    Application in Thermoplastic Elastomers


    The application of general microsphere foaming agents in the elastomer industry is mainly for lightweight purposes. Injection molding processes are relatively simple, but for extrusion processes, certain optimizations to thermoplastic elastomer materials are required.


    In the injection molding process, aside from lightweight purposes, an important application is to reduce the shrinkage of thermoplastic elastomers, making the product appearance more aesthetically pleasing.
